![]() In 1970, when Al & Lisa Fournier first opened our doors, El Torero became the first Mexican restaurant in New Haven County, Connecticut. We were one of the original pioneers of Mexican cuisine in Connecticut. Since Al’s passing in 2003, his vision and tradition lived on with Jan Montalto as owner. Jan was first employed by Al in 1974 and strived to maintain the standard that he set into motion so long ago. In March 2008 we had to move from our home of 38 years. We are now pleased to welcome you to our new home at historic Savin Rock in West Haven, Connecticut. With the support of Lisa Fournier and Jan Montalto we are carrying on El Torero Tradition and we have been given the honor to keep El Torero “Still The Best Around”! Thank you for your continued support, Patty, Hector, Travis, and Alejandro
